A COME-HITHER LOOK

An anecdote says that when she was asked about her dancing style, she answered, in heavy accent, "I'm shaking my chemise." - Gilda Gray

A hat check girl exclaimed, "Goodness, what lovely diamonds." Mae West replied, "Goodness, had nothing to do with it, dearie."

"You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and...blow." - Lauren Bacall

"I haven't lived a good life. I've been bad, worse than you could know." - The Maltese Falcon

WHY WE LOVE CATS!

1. Noses that twitch.
2. Supersoft paws.
3. Their love affair with open boxes...
4. ...and rubber bands.
5. Their vigilant surveillance of the front walk.
6. Rhythmic purrrs.
7. Full-body stretches.
8. The curl up on your chest - and even put a paw to your cheek.
9. Their sloooow eyeblinks.
10. Their ability to find the only square of sunshine on the carpet - and fall asleep in it.
11. "Pet me now" nudges.
12. Their haughty independence...
13. ...combined with their constant need to be near you.
14. Their attention - seeking stunts.
15. The way they curl their tails around their feet so tidily.
16. The warmth of their bodies.
17. Sandpaper kisses.
18. Their cranky meows when you keep them waiting.
19. They daintily step all over the newspaper you're reading.
20. Whenever you look up, they're there.

EUCALYPTUS, JASMINE, CALENDULA...OH MY!

Due to road construction I have been driving home a different way than normal. Its such a slower paced from my usual route. It has been so breezy and cool lately that I drive everywhere with my windows down its such a free feeling to have wind rearranging your hair. There is one particular part of this drive that is breathtaking and for some reason traffic is always backed up there. There is a faint smell of roses, although I do not remember seeing any roses I know their petals are velvety and smooth. A stronger scent of eucalyptus drifts in and out of my windows...coming and going like waves on a sandy shore. Then there's a breath of a mystery fragrance - I think it's jasmine or calendula. Actually I don't know what a calendula smells like or if even a plant but it sounds sweet I think. There are huge trees all around their timeless branches hugging the road overhead. Some of the trees have seed like blossoms that are wafting through the breeze. Their blossoms dripping like honey off a comb. I look around with admiration of this cascading beauty from the trees. Oh, if only I were a calendula!!!

AUTHOR UNKNOWN

If the opportunity arose for me to fulfill my desires of shattering pain I'd be too depressed to care.

A person's face can change over a lifetime, but the heart remains true forever.

A two way street and both roads are under construction.

The hardest battles are the ones on the inside, that nobody else sees.

THE KILLERS

All These Things That I've Done

I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier

CHAI TEA

I have been drinking Chai tea lately. It's a wonderful East Indian drink. Chai, pronounced like pie, actually means tea in East Indian. It is a rich black tea infused with cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and sometimes ginger and anise. Then sweetened with sugar and milk. It is available in most supermarkets, specialty stores and some coffee houses. I personally like the Stash brand myself.

SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES

DAZZLE

swallowing diamonds a cutting throat
your teeth when you grin reflecting beams on tombstones

a jamboree of surprises
playing russian roulette or the lucky clip
a clenched fist to your heart
coal dust on your lungs
a silver tongue for the chosen one

heavy magnum in your side or a bloody thorn
skating bullets on angel dust
in a dead sea of fluid mercury
baby piano cries under your heavy index and thumb

pull some strings -- let them sing
the stars that shine and the stars that shrink
in the face of stagnation the water runs before your eyes
dazzle

it's a glittering prize
